Welcome to a new and exciting year at J. L. Simpson Middle School!

Middle school is a time of incredible growth and emerging independence for your child. It’s also a time of changing parental involvement in your child’s school life.  While you may not be asked to volunteer in a classroom this year, there are still lots of ways your contributions are needed and appreciated. We hope you’ll get involved!

PTO Purpose

The PTO plays an important role in your child’s life in two main ways:

  • We partner with the school to provide fun, safe, age-appropriate social activities that help foster a sense of community and support your child as they navigate the sometimes choppy waters of middle school. Events include the 6th grade ice cream social, a 7th grade activity, the 8th grade dance, Winter Blues Blowout, and more!
  • We also support the faculty and staff by providing supplemental classroom resources, supporting after-school clubs, and hosting staff appreciation events throughout the year.

Membership

The PTO is a little different from the elementary school PTA that you may be familiar with—there are no dues to pay and every parent is automatically a member.

Fundraising

The PTO raises money for our programs in various ways througout the year. Money raised will be used for teacher support, staff appreciation activities, student events and schoolwide initiatives.

J. L. Simpson Middle School PTO is also on Facebook!  If you have a Facebook account, please check us out and request to join the "JL Simpson PTO" group page.  This provides another source of information and a way for parents to communicate and ask questions.  We would love for you to join us!
